We focus on one thing: OEM‑look Porsche 964s that feel and behave like new cars, wherever you drive them.
Every car starts as a real 964 and is rebuilt around how its owner actually uses it – be it long‑distance touring, track days or everyday use.
For owners who want a 964 built around them from the ground up.

How a Manufaktur 964 comes together
01/ Discovery
We start with how you actually drive: daily, touring, track or all three, then define the right base car, spec and budget window.
We inspect your 964 or help source a donor, then map chassis, drivetrain, electrics, interior and cosmetics into a clear build plan with milestones.
02/ Donor & Plan
03/ Bare‑shell rebuild
The car is stripped to a bare shell and every major system is refreshed or re‑engineered to our “fuel, key, go anywhere” standard.
04/ Shakedown
We drive the car 1.000+ km in real conditions to expose and solve issues before you ever see them.
05/ Delivery & Care
You get a detailed build dossier, recommended care plan and the option for us to look after the car long term.
You see clear stages, photo/video updates and always know what’s happening next – no 18‑month black box.
Considering buying a 964? Watch this before you buy.
Most 964 “buyer’s guides” stop at the asking price.
This 20‑minute video walks you through what it actually costs in 2025 to take a typical 964 from “looks good in photos” to “properly sorted driver” – with real ranges from our build and workshop data.
In the video you’ll see:
What a “properly sorted driver” really includes – system‑by‑system 2025 cost ranges for chassis, brakes, body, electrics, interior and engine/gearbox when each is done once, correctly
How much extra a full reset really adds – the true difference between a Sorted Driver program and going all the way with paint and interior, and why “just doing cosmetics” on a tired car is where most money gets burned
A simple decision frame – when it makes sense to keep driving what you have, when a Sorted Driver program is rational, and when a full reset is the only option that actually fits your goals
Get instant access to the private video – no fluff, just numbers and what they mean in real life.
Based on real workshop data and recent projects. Ranges are current as of 2025, not quotes for your specific car.
35 years with the Porsche 964
“I bought my first 964 in the early 1990s when they were still new cars. In 1994 I upgraded from a Carrera 2 to a Turbo. A car which I drove for almost 30 years. Daily, in the mountains and heavily on track. After years of driving, breaking and fixing these cars, I started Manufaktur 964 in 2011 to build the 964s that no longer existed: OEM‑look, factory‑new to drive, and truly reliable for every drive.” - Michael Gerischer, founder of Manufaktur 964
Manufaktur 964 is a small, highly specialized workshop dedicated purely to the Porsche 964. We build 2-3 Commissioned Builds a year and offer past projects as Prepared Drivers should the owner want to sell it.
To this day we drive our 964s as intended - on road, on track, in winter & on roadtrips. Between 2022 & 2023 we drove our own cars to the south of Spain on a track day adventure and up to the arctic circle in Sweden to go drifting on ice.
We know the feeling of opening the garage, turning the key, fueling up and driving. That’s why we restore and build these cars - to make this experience truly reliable.
A few moments from the cars we’ve built and the stories around them – trips, features and life in the workshop.

We’re based in Gau-Algesheim, Germany. Most of our clients are in Europe, but we also work with international owners. Transport and import can be arranged as part of a project. Consultation is available in German and English. Visits are by appointment only.
-
Prepared 964s we’ve fully sorted and offer for sale usually sit in the €150-250k range, depending on base car and work done. Commissioned builds, taken to our “Sorted Driver” or full reset standard, are above that, and priced individually once we know your use‑case and spec. We don’t offer “cheap” partial refreshes; every system we touch is done correctly, once.
-
Prepared 964s are available to drive as soon as they’re sold. A commissioned build typically takes 12–24 months from agreement to handover, depending on scope and paint/bodywork. During that time you get regular photo/video updates at key milestones.
-
Both work. We can inspect your existing 964 and plan from there, or help you find a suitable donor in the market. For full builds we strongly recommend choosing the donor together, so we don’t start from a car that fights the project.
-
In short: no. We don’t do one‑off patch jobs or TÜV‑only repairs. Once we open up a system, we take it to the standard we know is safe and reliable for long‑distance use. That’s how we protect both your investment and our name.
-
We build 964s to be driven: Autobahn, Alps, everyday roads, in real weather. Values are a side‑effect, not the goal. Our focus is OEM exterior, factory‑new feel, and the kind of reliability that lets you do 1,000–2,000 km at a time without thinking about it.

If you’re looking at a specific 964 we’ve prepared, use the form on that car’s page. If you’re considering a commission or just want to understand options, use the contact form and tell us briefly how you plan to use the car and what you’re thinking about budget‑wise.
