What a Proper Porsche 964 Restoration Really Costs in 2025

Most 964 “buyer’s guides” stop at the asking price. This 20‑minute video walks you through what it actually costs in 2025 to take a typical 964 from “looks good in photos” to “properly sorted driver” – with real ranges from our build and workshop data.

In this video you’ll see:

  • System‑by‑system worst‑case 2025 restoration bands for a tired 964 (paint, interior, suspension, engine, heating & AC, etc)

  • How those add up for a Rolling Restoration vs Full Build, and why “just driving” doesn’t work for us.

All bands assume a tired 964 Carrera being taken to a proper standard – it’s a worst‑case scenario so you don’t kid yourself.

  • Donor prices are an assumption based on our recent experience.

  • Totals already include parts, labour and VAT – I talk parts net in the video; on‑screen bands are what you’d actually expect to pay.

  • If these bands already feel wildly above what you were thinking, that’s useful: a proper Manufaktur‑level 964 probably isn’t the right project right now.

  • If it still feels sane, the next step is to look at 964s we’ve already taken to this level.

What to do after watching?

Look at 964s we’ve already rebuilt to this standard – both Rolling Restorations and Full Builds.

Cost Map FAQ

  • No. The bands here are for naturally aspirated narrow-body 964s (Carrera 2/4). Factory Turbos typically sit well above these ranges; we treat them case by case.

Turbo 3.6s, factory WTLs & other special models share certain systems but will have either a higher donor price, higher parts prices or both.

  • No – they’re realistic worst‑case bands built from our parts costs and workshop time in 2025. Specific cars can be lower (if they’re better than the tired‑car scenario) or higher (if surprises appear).

  • This video gives you the shape of the cost. For a specific car we’d still need to see it and talk through your use‑case and timeline.
